Our Story
LKPA began as Aintree Kidney Patients Association when Dr Bhavna Pandya joined Aintree Hospital as a consultant in 2005 and identified the need for an association for kidney patients by kidney patients. It was set up with the help of late Mr Dennis Crane, MBE, North Region advocacy officer, National Kidney Federation along with Southport kidney fund, Mersey Kidney Patients Group and patients from Aintree Kidney Unit. The constitution was designed and charity commission approved on 19th April 2007.
